The changing leaves of a blueberry bush in Alaska, mid-August 2009. Though this was one of the first bushes to turn, fall certainly comes early that far north.

I've only been to Denali National Park once (early August, 2009), and lucked out to have clear skies one morning! It was surprisingly cold for early August--the tea in my mug from the night before was totally frozen when I got up at our campsite. This shot was taken near the new visitor center, a few hours in on the park road. A tip if you go: get on the first bus! There's lots of wildlife activity early, and you can still have some morning light to work with if the mountain happens to make an appearance.
