A field of paintbrush carpets a Texas field in the spring.  I'd hoped to get this scene on film, but a cloud changed those plans.   "Sometimes chicken, sometimes feathers," said my cousin, who had come along for the ride with me.

An abundance of spring wildflowers near Bastrop, Texas.  One of those fields that you drive past and say, "Whoa, I need to go back there!"
Early on a cool summer morning, the insects are not too lively.  These guys were apparently snoozing with their heads in their favorite meal.  I suppose this is as close as they'll get to breakfast in bed.
Golden Banner and morning dew in Poudre Canyon, Colorado.  Can you see the tiny bugs?  I didn't see them while I was shooting, only spotted them on the monitor when I took the images off the camera.
