An autumn rainbow and an old fencepost, near Westcliffe, Colorado. Had to wait here for a while for some foreground light to bring out the texture on the post and in the grass, all the while hoping the rainbow would persist.
A lovely doubletrack path through giant aspens near Ridgway, Colorado, out at the end of County Road 5 on the way to Moonshine Park. Absolutely wonderful place for a ride or a stroll. These leaves are usually at their best in the last week of September or the first week of October.
The Sneffels Range at sunset, early October 2009. The weather a few days before was not kind to the autumn leaves; most went from green straight to brown. But there were definitely a few protected spots that kept some good color, like these trees, lit by the glowing clouds above. I spent most of this day riding my bike, with the snow stopping and starting every hour or so. Luckily the weather broke with about an hour to go until sunset.
