Thunderstorm and poppies at sunset, in Montana de Oro State Park, California. It was really windy when I took this shot, making for a bit of an exposure challenge. Luckily (?) my D200 was in the shop so I borrowed my friend's D300 (which does much better at ISO 1600). I also like this image after running it through a Photoshop watercolor filter, too.
Early on a cool summer morning, the insects are not too lively. These guys were apparently snoozing with their heads in their favorite meal. I suppose this is as close as they'll get to breakfast in bed.
An abundance of spring wildflowers near Bastrop, Texas. One of those fields that you drive past and say, "Whoa, I need to go back there!"
