North Clear Creek Falls, Colorado, July 2010. Having just shot these same falls in October 2009 (see next shot in this gallery), I thought it'd be neat to see them when they were still green.

North Clear Creek Falls, Colorado, October 2009. The grass has turned brown and there's snow in the grass at lower left. Winter gets very impatient to make an appearance in the high country, and usually is trying to nudge its way in by late September.

Sunrise at Dallas Divide, early October, 2008. On this trip, my wife and I stayed in Ridgway for a few days, which was great for me since I could come up to the Divide in the mornings and we could hike together during the daytime. Totally clear skies on this morning, I shot this at first light. There had to be 60 other photographers there with me, but no one else using a 4x5.
