Sunrise at Dallas Divide, early October, 2008. On this trip, my wife and I stayed in Ridgway for a few days, which was great for me since I could come up to the Divide in the mornings and we could hike together during the daytime. Totally clear skies on this morning, I shot this at first light. There had to be 60 other photographers there with me, but no one else using a 4x5.
Dream Lake and Hallet Peak, Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado. I lucked out a bit this morning. The wind, which normally just absolutely howls here in the winter, was coming from the southwest, so I got a good deal of shelter from the trees. This definitely makes for happier fingers! Usually when I go up to Dream Lake in the winter I have to hide behind a rock to keep from freezing, and I definitely have to bring the heavier tripod.
Mount Rainier and alpine avens (I think)
